THE MOAT HOUSE WINTER WEDDINGS
Kay and Matthew booked me for their winter wedding photography at The Moat House in Acton Trussell, a wedding venue that I have been fortunate enough to work at many times over the years.
I love all the different photographic opportunities this venue offers me throughout the seasons, and I’m always looking for something slightly different and unique for each couple that book me and entrust me to document their special day.
The Marriage
Kay and Matthew’s service was held in the Colin Lewis Suite. Dating back to the 14th century, The Colin Lewis Suite retains its medieval charm with exposed oak beams and inglenook fireplace.
After the service we had a walk around the grounds, I knew we hadn’t got much time as the weather was on the cold side and I didn’t want the bride outside too long.
The Evening
After documenting the speeches, first dance and evening guest we headed back outside for 10 minutes to get some evening photographs, it was a clear night and the sky was full of stars, a perfect end to a perfect day.
Spring Wedding Showcase
If you are in the midst of booking your wedding venue then it would be well worth a visit to the Moat house this coming Sunday 22nd February as they will be holding their spring wedding showcase. The doors open at 11am and close at 3pm.

THE HEATH HOUSE
Heath house Wedding
I photographed Sam & Helens wedding last year on what felt like the hottest day of the year, the sun was blazing down all day and was perfect weather for the outdoor ceremony. The heath house is surrounded by 125-acre parkland and this includes an old walled kitchen garden and former stables.
Outside ceremony
The outside ceremony took place in the delightful Regency orangery that overlooks a sunken rose garden with clipped box hedging and stone balustrades, just a perfect location for a civil ceremony. After the service the bride, groom and guests made their way to the rest of the gardens at the rear of the Heath House for drinks and canapés on the lawn.
Inside The heath House
Although we had the most amazing weather I still felt we needed some images inside the house, the décor and architecture is stunning and I really wanted to capture some of these important elements for them, the bride in her dress with the backdrop of a grand staircase is something I couldn’t leave out.
The Coverage
Sam & Helen booked me to document the day from the bridal preparations in the morning through to the first dance in the evening, I also photographed this wedding on my birthday and ironically I will be at the heath house again this year on my birthday, lets hope we get the same weather.
Please feel free to get in touch if you are looking for a photographer for your special day.
